I was a young mom who just felt a desire to connect with other women in the same phase of life as me in order to feel less alone.

One Modern Mom was born at about the same time I bloomed into motherhood - with both content creation and motherhood being unfamiliar territory!. At just a week into my 22nd year, I started navigating this new chapter of my life: “raising a tiny person.”

I found myself seeking encouragement,  advice, a sense of understanding, and community from other mothers in a similar stage of life. One rainy evening, in the middle of the night while nursing my first baby on a broken lazy boy chair, I realised, if I wanted community, I needed to create it! Little did I know just how powerful that little Facebook page would become.

Apparently, there were many other women who felt the same. And by sharing authentically, the community grew and grew. And 9 years later, here we are, with over 60,000 women in total across my two platforms, and what an incredible journey it has been.

This community of motherhood/women has seen me through  three pregnancies, and so much growth.

What started as a need for connection and a love for writing emotively, turned into a career that allowed me to:

+ Stay at home to raise my beautiful children, now 10, 3 and a baby under a year.

+ Work with huge international brands such as Country Road, Birkenstock, Le Creuset, H&M, Cotton On Kids, Pampers, LG and Nespresso.

+ Connect with smaller woman-owned brands.

+ Tap into my creative freedom and help businesses grow.

But more than that, the joy I get from the conversations formed with real women who are on similar journeys in life to me is what I hold nearest to my heart.

As much as One Modern Mom is about building businesses up through content creation and influencer campaigns, it’s also about building women up, helping them grow, fiinding confidence in themselves as women and mothers, and creating awareness about things that aren’t spoken about enough in order for them to feel seen, heard and know that they have a community of women around them who are in that season of life too.
